Cheating Patterns
The mini-collective of three artists – Federica Marin, Marlen Peix and Ribana Szutor – took place from the 18th to the 24th of October, at the Gallery Spazio 40, in the heart of Trastevere.
The title of the event relates to the ability of the artwork of presenting more than the usual vision concerning reality, showing the essence of every aspect analysed. On the other hand, it is willing to overcome the banal conception of the generally associated idea with contemporary art that “I could have done it too”.
The exhibition proposes a visual tale which takes its distance from the usual, common schemes of everyday life, which we all adopt, allowing us to read things differently, with “new colours”, and a new, stimulating approach.
The prism of reality percieved by us is purely subjective, hence different depending on how it is lived by each individual. This concept is true for the artwork as well, through shapes, colours and matter, it acquires meanings based on objective contents, which tend to vary due to emotional suggestions.
Art, in its ability to transcend materiality, is a challenge to current reality, capable to transform images into contents charged with new meanings.
