Contemporary art exhibition | Something beautiful
The exhibition Something Beautiful took place from 19 to 26 February, at the Galleria La Pigna, in the historical Palazzo Maffei Marescotti, in the centre of Rome.
The location:
Palazzo Maffei Marescotti is located in the Rione Pigna, in the historical centre of the capital city. It was ideated in 1580, by Giacomo Della Porta, on behalf of cardinal Marcantonio Maffei, whose death in 1583 caused a long series of changes in the ownership and uses, with the only constant of being owned by the Vatican, and which made it the headquarters for the Vicariato di Roma, and completing the façade of Via dei Cestari in a neo-renaissance style by Antonio Sarti.
The exhibition:
“This world in which we live needs beauty in order to prevent succumbing to desperation. Beauty, like truth, is what brings joy to men’s hearts, and it’s that precious fruit that resists the passing of time, which unites generations and let them communicate in admiration. And this is thanks to your hands… Remember that you’re the custodians of the world’s beauty” (Paolo VI, Enchiridion Vaticanum, 1,p.305)
