God Is a Woman
On Saturday, March 8 at 5:30 PM, the Borgo Pio Art Gallery (Via degli Ombrellari 2, Rome) inaugurated the group exhibition of contemporary art “God is Woman”.
The event, curated by art critic Monica Ferrarini, opened with a theatrical performance by actress Luna Deferrari, who performed the monologue “La Dea” from the collection “In Her Shoes” by Gloria Calderón Kellett.
The exhibition was held under the moral patronage of FIDAPA BPW Italy – Rome Ara Pacis section and the Associazione Donne e Società.
“God is Woman” was conceived as a celebration of the female universe. The participating artists were invited to interpret this vast and multifaceted theme through their own stylistic research, each bringing her unique language and emotional sensibility.
The works present the image of a conscious woman, reclaiming that feminine energy which, in the past, placed her at the center of society—despite centuries of male power attempting to suppress and victimize her. Here, woman is honored as giver of life, creative force, and divine entity, but also portrayed with a lighter touch, emphasizing playfulness, coquetry, and refined sensuality.
In a world where masculine energy has prevailed, creating imbalance, feminine energy seeks to reaffirm its role and join with the masculine to restore harmony in the universal order. In light of the ongoing tragedies of violence against women, the exhibition aims to serve as a reminder and celebration of the female universe in all its infinite nuances and extraordinary potential.
The exhibition features 15 international artists from 11 countries: Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Romania, Argentina, England, and the United States.
