Biography

Monica Ferrarini obtains her degree in 2002, at the Università di Pisa in Modern Literature, followed by a masters in Communication and Public Relations at the Istituto Europeo di Comunicazione I.E.D. di Roma and another masters in Education and Guidance, in Milan.

She has been a founding partner and vice-president of the cultural association and art gallery Artime arte contemporanea, for which she has designed and organized various events, both in public and private spaces.

She has been working, since 2012, as an independent art critic and curator, designing and organizing events in numerous institutional locations and writing critic texts for catalogues for contemporary art exhibitions.

Furthermore, she collaborates as a professor of history of contemporary art with various structures and cultural associations in Rome.

She has been a member of the club UNESCO “Carrara dei Marmi” since 2010, and in October 2012 she has been one of the six members of the UNESCO national jury for the national prize “La Fabbrica nel Paesaggio”.

She has been a member of the F.I.D.A.P.A  B.P.W Italy (federazione italiana donne arti professioni e affari) sezione Roma Campioglio, since 2012. In 2015 she is elected for the committee of Presidenza as secretary of section for the biennium 2015-2017.

In April 2015 she receives a plaque of merit from the Embassy of Guatemala for curating Marta Reyes’ solo exhibition.

In December 2015 she receives from the Vatican the parchment with the benediction of the Holy Father for the cultural activities of her Association.

She is the founder of the cultural Association M.F.eventi, which organizes and promotes events on the whole national territory, both in institutional and private spaces.

She has been living and working ad an art curator and critic in Rome since 2012.
